Legal Requirements
I look forward to making your Gold Coast Wedding Ceremony a day to remember, to help you prepare here is a list of the legal requirements for marriage in Australia :
- Original Birth Certificates if born within Australia
- Passport if you were born outside of Australia and do not have a birth certificate, evidence of the date and place of birth must be sighted by me.
- The minimum legal age for consent to marry is 18 years – please speak to me if one of the parties is under 18 years old.
- A Notice of Intended Marriage must be completed by both of you and lodged with me at least one month and one day prior to the ceremony date, but no earlier than 18 months.
- Divorce decree absolute if either of you have previously been married and subsequently divorced.
- Death certificate of a deceased spouse if either of you have been widowed.
- Full names of two people over the age of 18 years, who will be your witnesses at the ceremony.

Order of Ceremony
For your Gold Coast Wedding Ceremony an Order of Ceremony provides a basic structure and flow to the proceedings of the Wedding, however you are in the driving seat and can change any part of this!

- The Marriage Act ( legal words spoken by me)
- The Asking / Giving Away ( parents involvement)
- Reading/Poetry
- The Vows
- Symbolic Ceremony if desired eg, exchange of rings, candle ceremony
- Declaration of Marriage
- Signing of the Register
- Introduction of the newly married couple
Closing of the Gold Coast Wedding Ceremony .....kisses and hugs of congratulations to the bride & groom who often leave for photographs, whilst the guests are directed to the reception.
